ROUGH SLABS IN FIXED ROWS

CLADDING REINFORCED CONCRETE WALLS

The technical requirements of restraining slopes at the edge of roads or foundation fills of residential or industrial buildings and their access ramps call for the need to build secure supporting walls in reinforced concrete which, even though they are technically indispensable, are nearly always an aesthetic failure. Since this situation is incontestable, the very offices that issue permits for building new roads that have restraining walls in reinforced concrete, require a recess of at least 15 cm. from the finishing edge to allow for subsequent cladding, with suitable material, to improve the visual impact.
In these instances natural cleft slate is undoubtedly the most suitable material for cladding walls in reinforced concrete.

CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION IN USING CLEFT SLATE
The creative imagination of a good designer, supported by the manual capability of an excellent layer, is determinant for making beautiful restraining toe walls and borders for flower beds and gardens and for rustic steps as illustrated here.
