CLADDING WITH SLABS 57X40X1 OR 57X30X1
This type of cladding is normally used to protect the façades of buildings exposed to particularly bad weather. Especially to protect against driving rain, slate’s natural characteristic of not absorbing water creates a waterproof wall.
The slate slabs are set on a special frame made of vertical wood laths with an 8 x 3 cm. section. This lathing is fixed to the wall with special Teflon dowels about 12 cm. long. On this vertical lathing, at 23 cm. centres, laths 4 x 3 cm. are nailed horizontally. Slate slabs are fixed to these laths with special hooks placed both bottom and top. This system of cladding allows natural aeration of all the structures, protecting them from the elements and above all allows the walls to breathe perfectly.
