The protective, insulating function, the relative lightness, durability and impermeability of slate promoted its use in the roofing of this church designed by the architect Luigi De Bonetti in Brescia. This is a modern work and in analysing it we can't help recognise the functionality of using slate in this type of roofing.
Slate plays an important role in the way it is placed in these immense wings, which at the same time enclose the interior space, reserved for cult, and give the impression of an upward movement.
