Scalloped or scale or shield type roofing
SCALE OR SCHIELD ROOFING
This type of roofing is normally used on domes, whether they are large or not. This type of roofing is also found on mansards, attics or villas, consequently the scale or shield roofing is always present where the roof plays a starring role.
The special, accurate workmanship this type of roofing requires entails a higher cost, which is well worthwhile by the resulting aesthetic effect. From the technical point of view, the strong points are considerable since structurally it is a double type of roofing.
CHARACTERISTICS
- Slate slabs 30x20 cm, 9/10 mm thick
or 30x15 cm, 9/19 mm thick - Fixing: 6 cm hooks in stainless steel or
copper, 3 mm diam., better if 4 mm diam.
